Join us on Wednesday July 2nd from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM for our official cookbook release party. Sandwiched between our big Tin City Block Party Saturday the 28th and the 4th of July with our great Templeton parade please come visit us for some pasta and cookbook love. The Pasta King and his court (fellow recipe authors from our team) will be there as well as our friends and publisher, Edible magazine. We will also be signing books.
In the back of our mind we'd always considered the possibility of making our own cookbook. My colleague and trusted pasta production manager Rob Emery was so into the idea that he even started collecting the recipes from newsletters into a file and started editing them for consistency. The big problem, we had never published a book before, and it seemed like a pretty daunting task, especially while running a growing business.
Enter Edible................ Last summer we got a call from the team at Edible, turns out they wanted to publish a cookbook and chose us as their first partner. We've worked with Edible on various projects and events from the very beginning - and love them. What luck - not only were we interested, but this was just the break we were looking for. Their team included an experienced author/editor John Miller who had already produced a slew of books and would help not only keep our project on the rails, but also make it shine. Long term readers of this newsletter know that I could use the help of an editor from time to time.
I was confident the quality would be pretty good, but the results exceeded my expectation by such a large margin that it almost seems surreal. We actually now have a cookbook that looks like it could be in any bookstore in America and maybe will make it's way further afield in time. The direct application for this cookbook with our pasta is great, but also every recipe has a picture which is pretty rare with many cookbooks these days - especially the Italian ones.
So, please come celebrate with us on July 2nd and help me give thanks to all those who helped make this happen. We will be serving some pasta samples from the book and also have some of our Etto wines available to taste. The nominal charge will support the Etto Pasta Bar staff that will help us make this happen. The Pasta Market will be open late (until 7 or so) to allow you to pick up some items if you want after the event.
