๐Ÿ“™ My Story

Raised in the Midwest with California roots. Worked in TV production for 8 years until deciding to get into wine in 2019. After working at Silverlake Wine in Los Angeles for 4 years, moved to the Central Coast in 2022 and quickly found Giornata. In my free time, I enjoy hanging with my wife and dog, cooking, listening to too many podcasts, watching sports and movies, gardening, making art and drinking a lot of wine. Rock Chalk

๐Ÿด Best Meal in Italy

During our tasting at Foradori winery, we tried their cheeses, meats and kimchi that they also make. Along with the wines, their gorgeous space and our host Mythra (daughter of Elisabetta Foradori), the experience was just delightful and I couldn't get a smile off my face. Also Mythra gave us the hot tip to go to Forno Brisa in Bologna, and thank god she did, because we went there for breakfast or lunch 3 times, it was so good.

๐Ÿค” Florence, Venice or Rome?ย

Haven't hit any of those, so give me all

๐Ÿš— Off the Beaten path

Hotel Tyrol DolomitesSlowLiving - incredible, mellow hotel with surprisingly great included meals against the craziest, most unreal gorgeous Dolomites terrain. And their spa is also included (but fair warning, it's a full nude spa) which is perfect after a day of hiking around to refugios.

โ˜๏ธ Pointers or Tips?

Can't speak to Southern Italy, but I found driving in Italy is fantastic. Not too hard, just have to know that if you don't take the tolled highways, side streets have insane amounts of roundabouts. Also make sure you park in correct areas. But driving is fun!

๐Ÿ‘€ Where do you still want to visit?

Sardinia, Piedmont, Abruzzo, Valle D'Aosta, Tuscany - some of my favorite wines come those regions. But also, I want to go EVERYWHERE IN ITALY THERE IS SO MUCH TO SEE

๐Ÿ˜ฑ What surprised you the most when you first visited Italy?

It is as perfect as you think it is. No notes.

โค๏ธ What is it about Italy that really speaks to you?

Food & Wine = the reasons to live and celebrate being alive

๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿท How does this tie in to you working at Etto/Giornata?

Brian and Stephy champion the Italian way of life, not only in their wines (which like in Italy, are delightful and easy to drink) but also in quality of food and the all the joys of being on Earth.
